We are in the heart of Piedmont in a region called Gavi. This super delicious wine is a bold blend of Barbera and cabernet sauvignon. These two grapes are not always blended together, but in this instance the Barbera adds lift and the cabernet sauvignon adds depth. The vineyards are worked by horses sitting slightly above sea level; the soils are a raging blend of marl and clay. The wine is heady when you first smell it and seals the deal with its garnet color and gorgeous full fruit body.
Serving temp: Cellar temp around 65 degrees, store in a dark and cool spot.
Pairing: Meat dishes would love this wine; risotto would be lovely as well!
