We are all so obsessed with red Burgundy, it’s Pinot Noir at its best. What can be tricky about a Bourgogne rouge, like this one, is you don’t exactly know which vineyards are blended in. You have to start to get to know the producers and the details of where they source their wines from. This one is sourced from vineyards in Vosne Romanee and Chambolle Musigny, two of the most epic areas in Burgundy to make red wine. Mugneret does total whole cluster fermentation, which means that there is stem inclusion which adds grip and texture to this wine. A touch of neutral oak and we have something that is not only powerful on our hands but potentially age worthy. But drink it now! You can wait, or let it rip, that is the beauty of a Bourgogne Rouge.
Serving temp: Cellar temp around 65 degrees, store in a cool spot
