Agrapart & Fils, 7 Crus, Avize, Champagne, Chardonnay/Pinot Noir, NV
Avize is such an amazing area of Champagne and the father-son duo working the vines and making the wine are fourth generation producers. Agrapart is first off farming completely organically, which is incredibly uncommon for Champagne, and beyond that they are working with some of the oldest vines in the Cote des Blanc– many vines are older than 60 years. Les 7 Crus is mostly chardonnay with a touch of pinot noir all from the 7 villages surrounding Avize. Most of the Chardonnay fruit is from Grand Cru vineyards and this wine is nothing short of superb. It’s vivacious, elegant and alive. It’s dry and zesty; this is NOT the champagne that leaves you feeling bad the next morning, it's the champagne that dreams are made of!!
